Kadaknath Black Chicken — Jhabua's Tribal Medicinal Poultry

Kadaknath is a unique black-feathered, black-fleshed, black-boned indigenous chicken breed of Jhabua and Alirajpur districts, MP, traditionally reared by Bhil and Bhilala tribal communities. Its meat is high in protein (25%), low in fat, and rich in amino acids, making it a prized medicinal food and a GI-tagged luxury ingredient. A live bird fetches ₹600–900 at local markets versus ₹200 for commercial broiler.
