Jind Wheat Mandi Grain Procurement Haryana
Contributed by Swadesi Editorial Team
Jind district's grain mandis at Jind, Narwana, and Safidon are major wheat procurement centres in April-May, receiving thousands of trolley loads of harvested grain from surrounding Haryana villages for sale to government procurement agencies FCI, HAFED, and state civil supplies department at minimum support price. The mandi's arthiya commission agents facilitate transactions and maintain credit records for farming families who rely on seasonal crop income. Jind's wheat procurement volume represents a significant fraction of Haryana's 9-10 million tonne wheat surplus that underpins India's food security stock.
