Contributed by Swadesi Knowledge Team
The Dussehri mango variety originates from the Dussehri orchard in Malihabad, Lucknow, and is today grown extensively in Bijnor, Amroha, Saharanpur, and Lucknow districts. GI-tagged for Malihabad, Dussehri is India's most popular table mango — medium-sized, golden yellow, with a fibreless sweet pulp. The Amroha-Bijnor mango belt supplies Delhi, Mumbai, and export markets. Mango cultivation employs seasonal labour for orchard management, grafting, and harvest over 6 months.
