Pratapgarh district in central Awadh, UP is India's largest producer of aonla (amla, Indian gooseberry, Phyllanthus emblica) — a sour Vitamin C-rich superfood that is processed into amla murabba (preserve), amla candy, amla chyawanprash, amla pickle, and amla powder for Ayurvedic supplement exports.
