Saurashtra Groundnut and Groundnut Oil Gujarat

Saurashtra is India's largest groundnut-producing belt, with Junagadh, Rajkot, and Amreli districts dominating output. The region's red loam soil and dry climate produce the Bold variety groundnut prized for oil and direct eating. Cold-press groundnut oil extracted in local gharani (wood press) mills is a Gujarati culinary staple. Groundnut cake serves as livestock feed and organic fertiliser. Over 1 million farmers in Saurashtra depend on this kharif crop.
