Nawanshahr Shivalik Multifloral Wild Honey

Contributed by Swadesi Editorial Team

Nawanshahr's Kandi belt supports both wild honey hunting in Shivalik cliff sites and organised beekeeping by tribal and OBC community families who place Langstroth hives along seasonal chao stream margins where wildflowers bloom prolifically after monsoon rains. The multi-floral honey from Nawanshahr's Shivalik belt contains pollen from Acacia, Eucalyptus, wildflower, and fruit-tree blossom, giving it a complex flavour profile valued by artisan honey buyers. Punjab Beekeeping Training Centre in Hoshiarpur provides training to Nawanshahr beekeepers in hive management, disease control, and value-added honey processing.
