Nashik Wine Grape Vineyard Maharashtra
Contributed by Swadesi Knowledge Team
Nashik district in the Deccan plateau is India's wine capital, producing 70% of domestic wine. The region's basalt soil, moderate altitude, and cool nights replicate Mediterranean conditions ideal for Thompson Seedless and Chenin Blanc grapes. Over 100 wineries operate in Nashik, Igatpuri, and Dindori. Major producers include Sula Vineyards, Grover Zampa, and York Winery. The wine industry supports grape farmers, cellar workers, hospitality workers, and wine tourism infrastructure.
