Nagpuri Orange (Santra) — Vidarbha's Winter Citrus
Contributed by System
Nagpur mandarin, popularly called santra, is India's most famous orange, cultivated in Vidarbha districts — Nagpur, Amravati, and Wardha — earning a GI tag. Harvested in two seasons (Ambia and Mrig), the thin-skinned, deeply sweet fruit is processed into juice, squash, and marmalade. The Nagpur Orange Festival celebrates the harvest every December.
