Fazilka Haranwali Guava Cultivation Allahabad Variety

Contributed by Swadesi Editorial Team

Fazilka district near the Rajasthan border produces Allahabad Safeda and Apple Colour guava varieties in large orchards irrigated by the Gang Canal and Rajasthan feeder system, and the village Haranwali has become synonymous with high-quality winter guava exported to Delhi, Chandigarh, and Mumbai markets. Fazilka guava growers harvest from October to February, hand-picking at three-quarter maturity and grading into A, B, and C categories by size and skin colour for premium and wholesale channels. The district's guava reputation brings buyers from distant markets who pay farmgate prices 30 percent above the national average for Haranwali-labelled fruit.
