Lucknow, January 1, 2025 – A 24-year-old man named Arshad from Agra was apprehended for purportedly murdering his mother and four sisters in a hotel room, which resulted in the death of an innocent family in Lucknow. The shocking incident happened at Hotel Sharanjeet in the Naka area, where a family had just checked in to celebrate the New Year. According to preliminary investigations, Arshad provided his family with food and drinks containing an unknown substance after they arrived at the hotel. This act caused his mother, Asma and four sisters – Alia (9), Agsa (16), Rehmeen (18), and Alsiha (19) – to become unconscious and vulnerable. Following his unconsciousness, Arshad proceeded to strangle his family members, claiming that his actions were motivated by a family argument. This was deemed appalling. A tragic incident took place on December 31, 2024, late at night while the family was said to be celebrating New Year’s Eve in their hotel room.
The accused, Arshad of Delhi, was reported to have killed five members from his family, as stated by DCP Raveena Tyagi. Upon witnessing the appalling act, local law enforcement swiftly took hold of those accused and brought them to safety. She added that Arshad was arrested while still in the hotel room, and the police had responded quickly to reports of murders earlier. Authorities said there was no attempt to escape and that the suspect cooperated when questioned.
