Woman, paramour held for killing husband in Chhattisgarh
Manpur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 21 (PTI) A 35-year-old man was murdered allegedly by his wife’s paramour and another person in Chhattisgarh’s Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district, police said on Monday.
The police on Sunday arrested the victim’s wife, Yashoda Manjhi (33), her paramour Yugal Kunjam and Dharmendra Mandavi for the crime that took place on April 13, an official said.
The incident took place in the Mohla police station area where the victim, Sanjeev Manjhi, had come to his in-laws’ place to attend a wedding with his wife and two children, said Kapil Dev Chandra, station house officer of Mohla police station.
He said on April 17, a partially decomposed body of a man was found in the bushes in Birjhutola village, and the deceased was later identified as Sanjeev Manjhi, a resident of Urjhe village in Manpur police station area.
A probe revealed that Manjhi had come with his family to attend a wedding in Bogatolda village, near Birjhutola, he said.
The official said the police found that Manjhi’s wife had hatched a conspiracy with Kunjam to murder him.
He said Kunjam and his friend Mandavi took the victim on their motorcycle to the outskirts of Bogatola to consume liquor on April 13.
The accused entered into an argument with the victim in a drunken state and strangled him with a scarf, he said, adding that they then dumped the body in the bushes near Birjhutola.
During interrogation, the trio admitted to having committed the crime, following which they were arrested, the official said.
He said a case has been registered against the accused under sections 103 (1) (murder), 238 (causing disappearance of the evidence), and 61 (2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and further probe is underway. PTI COR TKP ARU
