In a major operation, the Delhi Police have broken up a well-organized group that was helping Bangladeshi citizens enter India illegally. The operation resulted in the arrest of 11 people, including four Bangladeshi immigrants and seven Indian citizens. These individuals were involved in making fake ID documents to make it seem like the immigrants were staying in the country legally.
The inquiry started with a murder in Sangam Vihar on October 21. The victim, Sentu Seikh, also known as Raja, was discovered to be an undocumented immigrant from Bangladesh. This incident revealed a larger system that helps people enter the country illegally by making fake documents like Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and PAN cards.
The group used a clever way to sneak people from Bangladesh into India. They took paths through thick forests and traveled by train to avoid being caught by border guards. After entering India, the immigrants were given fake ID papers to make it seem like they were Indian citizens. The people arrested were involved in making fake documents, operating Aadhaar services, and creating fake websites that sold these counterfeit papers.
The arrests happened during ongoing political discussions about illegal immigration in Delhi, especially as the state elections get closer. This issue has caused arguments between the main political parties, with worries about national safety and changes in the population being the main focus of the debate.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said that the operation has greatly weakened the system that helps people enter the country illegally. He stressed that the Delhi Police is dedicated to carrying out more such actions to protect the safety and unity of the country’s borders.
Along with this operation, the Delhi Police have been carrying out checks in different areas of the city to find and arrest people living there illegally. These actions are part of a larger plan to tackle the problems caused by illegal immigration and make sure immigration rules are followed.
